I have a new blog now!  My webhost, Christian Webhost, installed Movable Type for us to use! I have spent the last few days getting it all configured.  Then, I managed to mess up my tagboard, too!  Sheesh!  Anyway, the link for the new blog is http://www.lakebreeze.org/blog3/.

So, we turned our clocks ahead last night.  It was light out until about 7:30pm today.  It was fairly nice out today, but, a Lake Michigan breeze, still kept us rather cool!  Now, it's downright chilly out!  It takes a long time for spring to come to eastern WI!   Despite the coolness, the tulips and daffodils keep on growing.  It doesn't bother them any!

Today is Easter Sunday and it started at 5am, since we like going to the sunrise service!  DH whined all day, that he had to get up so early!  LOL!  Went to Lila's for Easter Dinner and had ham, riced potatoes, pistachio fruit salad, cranberry sauce, rolls, asparagus, and cole slaw.  We had pineapple-upside down cake for dessert!  Yummy!

Then came home and took a nap!  I was tired, too!  After supper, the kids and I watched some of the special features on the Bambi DVD.  That was interesting.

The snow is disappearing!  Yay!  I would say the snow is 75% gone from my yard.  It made great strides today!  Weather Underground says 50's, but MUCH cooler near Lake Michigan.  So, I guess we will only be in the 40's tomorrow.  Oh well.  That's still a snow melting temperature, so I'll take it!  Oh, and I really need to clean up the Jasmine messes in the yard!  ugh!

We got about 4-6 inches of wet, heavy snow. Today, the temp was in the 40's, so some of it melted, although, it didn't really made that sizable of a dent in the total snow amount in the yard.  It can melt anytime!

Good heavens. It is snowing like crazy.  I gathered up Jasmine's balls to bring them in the house, since I don't know if we would be able to find them tomorrow.  Of course, she then wanted to play.  So, there I was in the swirling snow, throwing the ball for my dog!  Sheesh!  I think this is finally the big storm that they have talked about ALL day.  I'm off to bed now.

Well, maybe I should have left the winter design up a little while longer!  We are under a Winter Storm Warning tonight, for 8-10 inches of snow!  Good grief!  We got an inch of snow this morning, which was bad enough!  It seems everytime we get a sizable amount of snow visible in the yard, we get more snow.  I don't think spring is EVER coming!  *whine!*

Tonight, we are meeting friends for supper, and then going to Book Discussion.  The book, which I didn't read, is called Once Upon a Town.  I still have a good time, whether I read the book or not.  It's still a night out with friends, regardless!

Tomorrow, if the snow doesn't change everything, is the high school music festival.  Sarah is doing a clarinet duet, with her friend Nicole!  I have to be in charge of a room, for 2 hours in the afternoon.  I like hearing the kids play.  I asked for a brass room, since I like listening to brass instruments. I did it last year, too!

Will update weather information and possibly pictures, tomorrow!

Kids are both upstairs playing their instruments right now.  We got them each a Disney book to go with their instrument (flute and clarinet), so now they spend time playing together!

It's nearly mid-March and we are still having winter weather. We got 5-6 inches of snow the other day and right now it's about 10 degrees outside. The kids who are going to the Kentucky this summer, for the Appalachia Service Project had a brat fry* today!   Anyway, they were raising money for their trip.  It was in the 30's during the afternoon, but not really that warm.  When I got home, after being outside for 3 hours, I was sooooo cold.

Normal highs and lows are 41 and 26 for March.  We aren't anywhere near that.  I"m sure the fresh snow cover has something to do with it!  I'm just so sick of cold weather.  My daffodils are growing, though, despite the cold.  They sure are brave!

*Brat fry -  Cooking bratwurst and hambugers outside on a charcoal grill and selling them to people, for the purposes of raising money for 3rd grade Bibles, the home that helps pregnant women, and the mission trip to Kentucky.  It has nothing to do with cooking naughty children!

Well, good news!  We get our Passat back from the body shop on Wednesday.  Gary will be happy to have his baby back in the garage!  So, will I.  I have missed the car, too.

Sunday, we had GORGEOUS weather for early March.  The temp got up to 56 and it felt soooo warm.  The wind was from the west, so it really felt warm.  Often, late in the day, the wind can switch from west to east and if it travels over the cold lake, the air gets really cold.

I took the kids and the dog to Kohler-Andrae Park.  They had a blast!  It was too nice a day, not to make the trip.

Between singing in the choir for 2 services, helping clean up after the brat fry, and then walking at the park, I was REALLY tired.  I fell asleep right after supper!  I slept from about 8pm until 1am when Gary got home.  Then I couldn't get back to sleep.  So, I was up on the computer during the night.  So, I fell asleep in the car for a short period, when we picked kids up from school.  Now, I'm tired though and should sleep good tonight.

What a fun day we had today!  We got to see the University of Wisconsin Marching Band in concert!  They are always a fun time!  Played the usual Hey, Do You Want to Be My Girl, Tequila, On Wisconsin, Varsity, and the Chicken Dance, along with a bunch of medlies: Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, and Simon and Garfunkel, and Fiddler on the Roof.  They also played All Night Long and a song by Doc Severinsen as a tribute to Johnny Carson.

150 college students, most of them playing brass instruments, filled the Weill Center with sound!  It almost seemed like too small a place for them, although it really isn't all that small!  The auditorium was filled and was a sea of red!  Not me, though.  I don't have any red clothes!  LOL!

When the concert was over, we discovered it had started snowing.  They expect 1-4 inches.  We already have one inch and it's still coming down!

Bummer.  Yesterday, we hit a deer with the brand-new Passat.  No one is injured that car will be fixable.  It's just a pain in the butt.  A friend of Gary's who traveled the same road today, said the carcass was a feast for a pile of crows.  So, maybe the deer didn't die in vain.  It will just be a hassle dealing with the insurance company and the body shop.  Did I mention we have only had this car since 12-30-04?

Bleah!  Cold, dark, damp and dreary.  It's windy and raining and cold!  ugh!  It's just miserable going out with the dog.  I don't think she liked it either!  Tomorrow, rainy in the morning and then some sun in the afternoon with temps in the 40's.  That isn't too bad.  Just right now that it's icky out.  Temp is 34, so it's just raining instead of snowing.  I'm eager for spring now, I think!

Wow, I just haven't had time or energy to post lately. I was working crazy hours everyday and at the end of the day, I was so tired I couldn't see straight! Today, we went to Gurnee Mills in Gurnee, IL, so Sarah could go to a free Jesse McCartney concert. So, DH and I had fun walking around the mall and drinking Starbucks coffee, while Sarah was at the concert. We wander back to the concert area, only to find out the concert hadn't even started yet. A mom sitting near us, said he was only going to sing 5 songs. So, it wasn't a long concert. The mom and her husband sitting next to us, were also from Sheboygan. Go figure. Also, my neighbor from across the street was also there! Who would have guessed that we could be 2 hours from home and run into other Sheboyganites!

Then it was time to find the kids. That took a while! We did all finally get back together. We were just about to leave and a girl came up to us to ask if we had a cellphone. We let her use it to call whoever it was that she needed to connect up with. She was very grateful. Poor thing was probably wondering where her parents were and we have 3000 night and weekend minutes.

Anyway, as we headed out, Gary's friend Steve calls. While they are talking, Gary asks him for restaurant suggestions, since Steve is more familiar with Racine then we are, and that's where we were going to eat lunch. Steve suggests Olive Garden, so that is where we go. Yummy! Sheboygan doesn't have one, so it was a treat for us!

So, it's good to be home again, but I feel richer, for having been out to a different place. Jasmine was quite happy to see us, after being alone all day. Also, she had to go to the bathroom by that time, too! She had a blast playing fetch with a tennis ball for a LONG time, when we first got home!

Wow, according to WTMJ, we got 11.2 inches of snow, but according to the Sheboygan Press, we got 14 inches! It is definitely a winter wonderland out there and it snowed from about 7pm on Friday night until Saturday afternoon. With the stiff wind, there was a lot of blowing and drifting. We didn't go anywhere on Saturday!

Jasmine loves playing in the snow and it seems like she could play in the snow almost endlessly! She doesn't even mind jumping through the drifts to get her floaty ring or big red ball! What a nutcase!

It's in the teens outside right now, so not that warm. Ugh. Then Jasmine wants to go outside 3 zillion times. When is spring coming? Oh, it's only January? Ugh! I think I'm ready for spring!

We had a quiet Sunday. We went to have birthday cake with my Grandma today. She enjoyed having us there and also enjoyed her Strawberries, Cool Whip and angel food cake! She lives in a small group home right now and we shared cake with everyone today. She is 92.

My sister's dog of 16 years died yesterday. It was unexpected and we don't know what happened. She was too upset to talk about it last night. He was a mutt from the Humane Society, but he was such a nice dog, sort of a lab/cocker spaniel mix that was black in color. We are all pretty sad that we won't see Ubu anymore.

It's still cold out. We have one more day of it and then it warms up a bit. Of course, then it will snow again!

It's kind of chilly outside. After midnight, we could get some light snow or freezing rain. Ugh. Would rather have the snow. On Thursday, it's supposed to get really cold. Not really looking forward to that. The dog doesn't like it, either. I think I'm ready for spring already. Jasmine doesn't make it any easier, since I have to go outside with her, for her to go potty.

Today, after school, the kids wanted to go to the library, so we did that. Then we went out to Subway for supper. As soon as we got back, I went to the store, then played with Jasmine outside. So, I'm all cozy in my cocoon now! I will have to take Jasmine outside once or twice more tonight, but I don't have to drive anywhere anymore.

We are enjoying the new Passat we just got, but I hate driving it at night, when their might be icy spots on the roads. It just makes me nervous. I really don't mind driving my Taurus. I'm used to it.

I archived the 2004 entries today. We had a nice Christmas, at my SIL's last week. Lots of food, good company and great presents. Then I had a busy week working at the clinic. We were VERY busy some of those days. Seemed like everyone was sick. Then on Thursday, the day of my daughter's sleepover with a friend, she tells me her tummy hurts. She barely eats lunch, then throws up all afternoon and into the evening. On Friday morning, 12-31-04, her belly still hurts and I decide to take her to the doctor. After a white count of 14.9 and a CT scan positive for appendicitis, she gets admitted to the hospital for a laparascopic appendectomy. We spent the night at the hospital, where I did get some sleep, and got to go home on 1-1-05 around 12:30pm. She was still kind of droopy yesterday and spiked a temp of 101.6 last night. Yikes! Fortunately, it came down with Tylenol.

Today, she is a new child! She is very perky and very energetic and has the spark back in her eye! I'm so glad she had this done. When we look back over the past year, she had about 5 different episodes of nausea, vomiting, and fever. I really don't think they are unrelated. I can't believe how good she looks today. She still says it hurts, but doesn't want any pain meds anymore. She barely took the ones she did take and only had Tylenol #3. What a trooper. So, we will never forget this New Year's Eve!

So, we had snow for Christmas, but then it warmed up, so it's all gone already! Today is cold and windy, though. Brrr. Gary and I took a drive in our new 2005 VW Passat TDI. I got to drive it today, too. It's a VERY cool car!
