The Onslaught of the Maple Leaves

So, today it started. The maple leaves are finally ready to fall, and we had the wind, to make it happen! The way my house is situated, many leaves pile up around my back door and we call it a leaf drift. It is imperative to get these leaves, away from the door, because they like to come into the house and they just make a mess!

So, after supper, that's what Emily and I did! We raked and raked and raked! I can never believe how many leaves, get piled up around the house! The neighbor helped a bit, because he was mowing the front lawn and bagging up the leaves, to dump in the street. When I progessed to the other side of my lawn, after raking a bit, I had Gary get our lawn mower rigged up with the bag, too. So, I bagged the leaves and then mulched, since I didn't realize that the bag was full. Dan came around behind me and bagged up what I wasn't picking up. The lawn needed mowing anyway and the leaves needed to get to the street. I forgot how nice our new Toro lawnmower was to use. It is balanced so nicely that you barely have to lift it, to go around a corner. Plus, it is a personal pace mower, so you can just about run with it, which I was, because it was quickly getting dark out! So, the lawn looks better now!

Here's a leaf drift!

Here are the geraniums in my front planter, along with the little pumpkins we grew this year, too. The gourds were purchased at a local pumpkin farm.

(Heehee. Just laughing at my title. It sounds like it could be the title of a book!)

The geraniums are beautiful! Oh, the pumpkins are so cute. So many of them, they would make a good pie. :D
