Monday Madness 10-29-06

This week's questions are, once again, from fellow participants! Thanks to all of you for your questions, AND for playing! Have an awesome week! =)

1. From bev:
Small town or big city?

Definitely small town. I live in a town of 51,000, but it's small, compared to Milwaukee or Madison. I like that it's just a few minutes, to run from side of town to the other. In Madison or Milwaukee, it just takes so long to go from area to the other, especially if traffic is bad. It can be bad enough where I live, but I know Milwaukee for sure, has it worse, at times. I also think we have a better school system, since we only have 10,000 kids and Milwaukee has about 900,000!

2. From turtlemoonwave:
Do you have a favorite childhood memory, and if so, would you share it?

When I was a kid, my family would go to Dairy Queen, after supper, to get 10-cent ice cream cones (mid-60's), then we would go to the bluff, in Port Washington, WI, to look at the lake, while we ate them! Sometimes, we'd see boats. Sometimes we'd see fishermen. I just loved driving down to the lake, anyway. In fact, I still do!

Here's the view, from the bluff, of Lake Michigan and the Port Washington, WI lighthouse:

This view, is what I saw, when Gary proposed to me, too, since he decided the lake meant enough to both of us, to propose there! I don't think there could be a more perfect spot. We have both lived most of our lives, near Lake Michigan!

3. From cat:
How do you calm down when something has really upset and/or angered you? Do you swallow it? Call a friend and rant? Go in the bathroom and cry? Punch a wall? Walk around muttering to yourself, complete with scary hand gestures?

No, I WOULDN'T punch a wall. People break their hands that way! It's NOT a good idea! I rant on my message boards, email, and my blog! LOL! I might call my DH, or my best friend, though, too. Sometimes, I cry! I might play my piano, or take my dog for a walk.

4. From dna princess:
What attracts you to memes?'

It's fun answering the questions and it brings visitors to my blog!

5. From mads:
How reliant are you on computers to get through your day?

If I'm home, I'm usually surfing the net! LOL! If I'm at my clinic job, we use the computers all day long, to enter patient information. If the computers go down, we have to write down the information and enter it in later. It's much easier just to do it once!

6. From tizzie:
In a crisis, are you calm or do you panic?

Sometimes, I panic, but if I really need to be, I can be calm. Don't ask me about recently trying to find the dough-hook for my mixer. I was very tense and crabby.

Another mid western person here:) Love the small towns. Very nice childhood memory. I think that is my favorite question this week-getting to know a little more about everyone.
Have a great week.

We live in Illinois and got engaged down by Lake Michigan too! We've also been to Port Washington, as that is usually where we stop for lunch on our way to our summer vacations in Door County. Small world!!

Have a great week!

What a small world, I grew up partly in Milwaukee and went to UWM. Haven't been there in ages, but your picture of Lake Michigan really brought it all back for me. Awesome! Have a great week!
