Mowing the Lawn

We mowed our lawn for the first time in 2005. It REALLY needed it. It was long enough last weekend, but then it was so cold, no one wanted to. There is just something wrong about mowing lawn in your winter jacket. Many other people availed themselves of the same opportunity. Lawn mowers were everywhere!

Our new neighbor started moving in today. I don't know when he will actually sleep in his new house. Maybe tonight, huh?

I filled my bird feeders today. They had been empty for a quite a while. I get lazy sometimes. Soon, I will be able to see birds feasting on the new seeds!

The dog enjoyed being outside with us and wandered all over the yard, or just laid down to watch us mow the lawn. She seems happier, for having been able to be outside that long!

Monday Madness 4-24-05

It's spring here in Michigan, but the weather today does not reflect that. My inspiration for this week's questions came from my mom suggesting the subject be SPRING! Thanks, Mom!! And thank you all for playing!! =)

1. What season are you in right now? Spring (supposedly... sometimes, hard to tell in WI, especially if you live near Cold Lake Michigan!
2. Do you celebrate anything special this time of year? Yes, Easter!
3. Name 3 things that come to mind when you think of spring (or your current season)? Newly blooming flowers, green grass, and supposedly warmer temperatures!
4. In the current season, about how many hours of the day are daylight hours? According to Weather Underground, 13 hours and 52 minutes today!
5. Do you do any 'spring cleaning?' We need to this year, since we have some company coming on Sunday, for our daughter's confirmation!
6. Do you wash your own car or take it to the car wash? Sometimes DH washes at home and sometimes, he takes it to the carwash. It really depends on his mood, or how cheap he is feeling!
7. Do you hang your laundry out on a clothesline on nice days? I love going to bed in sheets that have been hung outside, but don't always have the time!

Cold April Day

What an icky day. I woke up to a gray sky, strong wind, cool temps and a few snowflakes! Things didn't improve much over the course of the day. The sun peeked out here and there, but it ended in clouds. The cool temps and strong wind were both there all day, though! I even saw more snow flurries throughout the day, too. Yuck! I didn't want to be bundled up in my winter jacket, wearing mittens!

Yesterday, we got a new dishwasher! We got a KitchenAid KUDP01IL in Biscuit, since our kitchen is off-white. It is soooo quiet. The dishwasher is right above my head, in the kitchen and last night, while I was on the computer, I could barely hear it!

Tomorrow, we will have had Jasmine for 1 whole year! It's her Gotcha Day! I can't believe it went by this fast. What a special dog she is for us!

Sarah is on her way home from Floriday. I can't wait to see her to hear about her trip. I kept thinking that since she was gone, there must be somewhere we are supposed to be, to pick her up! Well, tomorrow will go fast enough, since I have to work.

Can't sleep

So, I was all bundled up, since I was cold when I went to sleep, but I woke up 4 hours later, hot and sweaty, with no covers on. Now, I can't get back to sleep. Of course, the noisemaker who shares my bed, probably isn't helping! So, I thought I would come on the computer for a little while. Maybe I will get back to sleep, later!

Our three computers all have optical mice, so we don't need to clean them anymore! Yay!

April Showers

It's raining out! Or, at least it was the last time I took Jasmine outside! We need the rain so bad. It's been such a dry April. Our lawn has been greening up quite nicely, but it really needed a drink. I have daffodils blooming and I took some pics recently. More daffodils are still on the way, along with tulips, too! I have grape hyacinths blooming like crazy, also!

We went to the Midwest Horse Fair today. We got our fix of Miniature Horses and Icelandic ponies, along with a mare and a foal from a WI farm! It was sooo cool. We even got to see a 3-month old Wallaby. It was sooo tiny.

No clue, really. I grew up with sisters and am raising only daughters!

Monday Madness

Tagboard is here now!

Well, it's starting to look like my old blog page now! I got my tagboard moved over and reconfigured. My blinkies are here. I'm so happy. I can hardly wait to do Monday Madness tomorrow and be able to put that in it's own category!

We had a nice sunny day today. My neighbor across the street has a few daffodils blooming! I have a few that are JUST starting to turn yellow, so it will be a bit before they bloom.

Wow, if Edith could come back to earth, she would never recognize her yard! The new owner of the house, has been here almost every day, raking the grass mowing the lawn and getting rid of all the grass clippings, old branches, and old leaves! He was here most of the day today. His parents helped him in the morning and our other neighbor helped him this afternoon. I keep looking at his yard in amazement! The other thing? He hasn't even closed on the house yet! LOL! So, I wanted a neighbor who would keep the yard nice and God answered my prayer!

Banner on Archive Page

So, I finally figured out how to get a banner on my archive page! Good grief, I was nearly tearing my hair out and my family is still lucky they have their heads! A big THANK YOU to the forums at Movable Type Community Forums!

We had supper tonight with our friends. If we aren't too busy, we like to go out for pizza on Friday nights! It's a chance to catch up with them, since we are usually to busy to talk, during the week.

Sarah is getting confirmed soon and we need to get some invitations sent out tomorrow! It is May 1st, so it's not that far away! Oh ugh, and we have major house cleaning to do, before that! We should start that tomorrow, too!

I raked the leaves away from my flower garden today and found 4 daffodil sprouts that are in desparate need of sun! They will get it tomorrow! Over near the house, the tulips continue to grow, the daffodils are getting closer to blooming and the grape hyacinths are already purple! Will have to take a pic tomorrow!

Designs today!

Tonight, I figured out how to add some images to my blog! I managed to mess it all up and then had to figure how to get it back! Scary! Yet, here it is and the image are there and I managed to center everything, so I'm pleased.

We had a gorgeous day today. At lunch-time, one didn't even need a jacket. Although, at school, the kids still had to wear their jackets, according to the principal! Bummer. Made my kids glad they don't go to elementary school anymore!

The kids had a fun bike ride tonight. Emily had a better time, with her seat properly adjusted.

The grape hyacinths have started to bloom. I should take a picture. We are waiting for the daffodils to bloom and the tulips to get bigger!

Blogging Software!

Christian Webhost decided to add Blogging software to their list of options for my domain! Yay! Real blogging software, instead of just an html blog! I feel cool now! The next thing to figure out, is how to customize this thing!

Now, Emily can have a movable-type blog, too! We are happy campers, here!
