Early Friday Morning

45 this morning, when I got up. We have the furnace on. I can't remember if I could see my breath this morning or not. Warmed up to 60, and now is in the 40's again. Apparently, we had a beautiful sunset. Life was crazy at the clinic tonight, so I missed it. She took a picture.

Got to hold a 9-day old baby today. Awww, sweetness. He was so cuddly. I almost didn't want to give him back. LOL!

Saw Big Bad Voodoo Daddy in concert yesterday. That was awesome. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, after Sarah got a free ticket at school. I had never heard them play before! We bought a cd, too, but the live performance was way better.

Monday Madness 9-26-05

It's Monday again; time for new questions! Thank you, Tricia, for the first 4 questions below. Let's play!

1. Ice cream or Yogurt?
Probably really ice cream, but I like frozen yogurt, too. I love Go-Gurts frozen!
2. What's your favorite board game?
Parcheesi. I love capturing someone and going 20 spaces. I love being able to go 14 if you get doubles and I love going 10, when you get a piece on the home spot. Even better is being able to 20, 14, and 10 all in the same turn, but it sucks if you get 3 doubles in a row and have to send a man back to start! LOL!
3. Do you play video games? If yes, what game system(s) do you use?
LOL! No video games here at our house! My daughter has a Gameboy Advance SP handheld game unit, but that screen is WAAAAY too small, for my 45-yo eyes! On the internet, though, I LOVE playing Bubble Bees! Does that count as a video game?
4. If you were given a chance to change your name, would you do it? If yes, what would your new name be?
Nope. I love my name! Being a Dawn Marie is like belonging to a special club!
5. What are the last 2 blogs that you've visited? Please share the links with us so we can check them out.
Political in nature. Found it after Katrina hit.
Daily Kos

This is a friend of mine
Donna's A Day in the Life

6. What's your biggest frustration?
People who forget what a "yield" sign is for! I had to slam on my brakes for such an idiot today. She looked so shocked that a car was so close to her! Well, slow down and look, you moron! I personally treat yield signs like stop signs, because you just don't know!!!!!! She's just lucky I was far enough away to slam on my brakes and not hit her! We just paid off my car, too! Sheesh!

Rainy Sunday

Wow, did it rain today! Our grass is very green and has a wonderful crop of big white mushrooms! LOL! Channel 6 said Sheboygan got 1.29 inches of rain today. We'll have to check and see what the Sheboygan Press says about the rain tomorrow.

I had to work, so it didn't matter to me, if it rained! It's getting colder in the house. I'm going to have to put on a sweatshirt pretty soon, while I sit by my computer. I was a little chilly tonight!

Monday Madness 9-19-05

1. When you're stressed out, what do you do to relieve your stress?
Cleaning, playing on the computer, pounding on my piano, or taking the dog for a walk
2. Are you normally a patient person, or is patience NOT one of your virtues?
Sometimes, I'm patient. Sometimes, I'm not. Probably more often, NOT!
3. How many times a week do you blog?
Maybe once a week
4. How many memes a week do you participate in?
Used to be this one and Friday Fives, but then Friday Fives quit, so I just do this one.
5. Describe the perfect day, weather-wise.
70's, low humidity, with a nice breeze. Ahhh. Although, I have to do winter, where I live, so the perfect winter day would be in the high 20's, with the sun shining.
6. Would you rather be too hot, or too cold?
Neither! Probably too hot, because there are only so many clothes you can put on, if you are cold.
7. Do you eat out often, and if so, what type of restaurants do you frequent?
Way too often and probably fast food way too often. I love eating at a little Italian restaurant that we have, but they are expensive, so only a once-in-a-while treat! I really prefer eating at places where the food is prepared more from scratch, with fresh herbs and stuff, though.
8. If you could run your own business, what type of business would it be?
Maybe something with pets, like homemade pet treats or something like that!

Sunday Night 9-18-05

Visited with my grandma today. She was recently in the hospital, but seemed to be doing well today. While she sometimes has been confused, she knew who I was today.

Yesterday, went to Lake Zurich, IL, for a free Jump5 concert at a family festival put on my Northwest Family Church, for the 5th anniversary. Sarah had a great time! She and her friends got to stand on the track, right next to the stage. Emily and I just watched from the bleachers. Other than some microphone problems, in the beginning, it was a great show! Sarah took 160 pictures! It was about a 2-1/2 hour drive to get down there.

Temperatures are finally beginning to cool off, finally. Since our air conditioning died, the hot days were pretty uncomfortable in our house, except for the bedroom. We had a hot summer this year. Milwaukee had 11 days of 90 degrees or higher this year. 2 of those were just last week!

Trees are starting to change color, too, although, it's early. I read that the trees are stressed because we have had a few dry summers in a row, now!

The other day, we had a 2-inch rainfall, though. Everyone's lawns are much greener. Some people lost electricity and had tree branches down. We only had a flicker of electricity loss and no trees or branches down. It was severe thunderstorm.
