Still cloudy

I can't remember the last time we had a sunny day. It has been gray, cloudy, temps in the 30's, since forever! Last night, we got a little dusting of snow and today, it's trying to melt as fast as it fell last night!

We did see some breaks in the clouds, in the western sky, while we were eating lunch, though. It seemed weird to see brightness in the clouds! From my vantage point, in the basement, though, all I see is a cloudy sky.

Day after Christmas

So, Christmas has come and gone. Life can settle down now. We baked cookies, bought and wrapped presents, made the lasagna for Christmas Eve and went to church. We even had snow for Christmas! Even though I live in WI, we don't always have snow on the ground, for Christmas!

We are still meeting with my side of the family next week Sunday and then we will be all done.

On Saturday night, we will meet with my friend Edie and her family for supper and games. I can't wait. Emily and I missed it last year, when she got her appendix out! So, it's been almost a year now.

We all got great presents and enjoyed spending time with Gary's side of the family! Joan puts on quite a feast!

Lizzie Quizzie

(¯`'•.¸(¯`'•.¸A Lizzie Quizzie!¸.•'´¯)¸.•

1. What is your favorite season and why?
I guess normally I would say winter, because snow is pretty, but today, I think I would say spring, because it's soooo cold outside!
2. Are the insides of your dresser drawers straightened or messy?
They are fairly straightened up, at the moment.
3. Do you own a cell phone? If so, how many minutes do you use a month?
Yes, I have a cellphone, but I don't use that many minutes. DH and I share a line and he uses many more minutes than I do. I use maybe 50/month, since the phone is usually just used to call home for rides.
4. On a typical day... what do you drink, and how much of it?
Diet Coke and probably about 4 12-oz cans
5. Do you know what xyzpdq means?
Examine Your Zipper Pretty Damn Quick
6. The way to my heart is to take me out to eat at my favorite Italian restaurant.
7. If I were competing in the Ms/Mr/Mrs America Contest, my talent would be playing the piano.
8. My favorite type of pie is apple streusel, made with vanilla seeds.
9. It is better to have loved and lost than to have been lonely all that time.
10. All is fair in love and war.

Coooollllddd!

I hate standing out on the playground when the windchill is below zero. My body gets tooo cold and all afternoon, I can't get warm again! I'm sitting in the basement, with my jacket on and the space heater blowing on me, trying to warm up.

The temp is in the teens right now and the windchill is about -4. Sheesh! We sure got cold quickly this year and already have several inches of snow on the ground. Winter is starting with a vengeance! It's supposed to gradually warm up into the 30's by the weekend, though. That will be nice!

Monday Madness 12-4-05

This week's questions are all about moving... Have fun, and thank you so much for playing! =)

1. When is the last time you moved?
August 1996, about a mile or so west of where we lived for three years before that.
2. How many times in your life have you moved?
3-1/2 from Milwaukee, WI to Port Washington, WI
13-1/2 from Port Washington, WI to Waukesha, WI
19 -23 various dorm rooms and apartments on the east side of Milwaukee (about 8 different moves)
23 from Milwaukee, WI from Marshfield, WI
33 from Marshfield, WI to Sheboygan, WI

14 including 2 moves, just within a city, from one house to another

3. In your opinion, what is the worst thing about moving?
packing and unpacking and finding a place for everything in the new house
4. What is the most exciting thing about moving?
Having a better place to live and having a great yard for throwing a ball for my dog. Also, it doesn't feel like MY house, until the beds are made. When we moved here to this house, I knew which box had the sheets and the first thing I did was make the beds.
5. If you've lived in the same place all your life, do you plan to move in the future?
Nowhere, I like it here in WI. No earthquakes or hurricanes. I can deal with the cold.
6. Do you WANT to move somewhere else; if so, where?
Nope, I love living right here next to Lake Michigan. When I lived in central WI for almost 10 years, I missed my lake something fierce! Even if I don't drive down by the lakeshore every single day, I love getting glimpses of it as I live my life! My dog loves the beach and so do we! There is something soothing about watching the waves come into shore. Yes, it gets cold in WI, but down south it gets way too hot for this northern girl!
