Monday Madness 2-26-06

This week's questions are all about blogging... Have fun, and thank you for playing! =)

1. What time of year do you blog the most?
There really isn't a time of year. It depends more on how much I'm working. I think with big weather changes, I tend to blog more, too. When the weather is the same day after day, I don't tend to write much.
2. What time of year do you seem to blog the least?
When I'm too busy working, or with kids to think about it much.
3. What time of DAY do you do your most blogging?
Probably, in the evening, when I'm home for the night.
4. When blog-hopping, do you tend to look at your blogroll list (or fave blogs) to see which ones have been updated, or do you visit your faves on a regular basis regardless?
There are a few I try to visit on a regular basis. I don't always have time to visit other blogs.
5. Do you change your blogroll often?
Not too often!
6. How many times a day, after writing a new post, do you check for new comments?
I don't have to check. My comments get emailed to me, so I would know already when I check my email.
7. Do you leave comments on others' blogs, or are you more of a lurker?
I usually comment, because I want them to visit me! LOL! Also, they usually have written about something interesting, that I feel like commenting on!

Winter came back

The kids got their first snowday in 6 years last Thursday, 2-26-06! We got 10" of snow and it was supposed to be very windy, along with the heavy snow, so already at 5:15am, school was cancelled. It was a darn good thing, too, because about 9am, the whiteout started!

I ended up having to go to work at the clinic at noon, but only had to stay from 12:10pm until 1:30pm, since they decided to close the clinic. I had to walk there, through unshoveled snow, but did get a ride home.

Then the cold snap came. On Saturday morning, it was -15 on our house thermometer, although, officially, we were at -14. Brrr. It's been cold since the snow, even though during the day today, it did get into the 20's, but it's cold and windy out there now.

Fortunately, it's supposed to be in the 20's during the day, for the rest of the week. We can get cold snaps, but by mid-February, they don't last very long. We were very spoiled by 30-degree temps throughout January and part of February.

Of course, then the snowblower had to die, so DH has been replacing the fuel hoses. We've had the poor thing since the winter of 1988 and I think it needs to be put out of it's misery pretty soon. The thing is only 18 years old, anyway!

Monday Madness 2-13-06

Thanks to Tilly for this week's questions! Here they are; Happy Valentine's Day, everyone, and thanks for playing! =)

1. What is the best Valentines gift you have ever received?
My best Valentine's present was getting flowers at work, when I worked in a hospital. The bouquet came in a mug that had conversation heart graphics on the outside. The hearts went in a circle and at one time I had a little suction cup arrow that you could spin, so see which message you would get. We lost track of that arrow a LONG time ago, but I still have the mug. It was nice having flowers on my med cart all day!
2. What is the best (and worst) Valentines gift you have ever given?
I can't really remember ever giving a Valentine's gift. I usually just DH a card!
3. In the past, have you ever sent or received an anonymous Valentines Card?
Never sent an anonymous card, but I did get an anonymous card yesterday, but it's not from a potential suitor. We are doing a secret pal thing at church and it was from my secret pal!
4. Have you ever sent an anonymous Valentines and got together with that person afterwards?
No.
5. Do you make special plans for Valentines, or is it just another commercial plan to make people spend money?
DH and I will maybe try to get out to eat, but probably next weekend. There was NO time on this past weekend for something like that, and he works second shift during the week. Oh well.
6. Do you buy, or make, traditional gifts, like red roses and chocolates, or do you like to be different?
DH and I aren't really all that big into Valentine's gifts.
7. Do you think you are with that special someone, are you waiting for that special someone, or is there 'the one that got away'?
Definitely with that special someone! We've been married 18 years now! :)

Here's the heart mug!

Monday Madness 2-6-05

True or False (and feel free to elaborate)

1. I consider myself to be very organized.
False! Once in a while I forget something is happening and end up missing it! I try very hard not to, though. I never miss work, though, so I must keep track of that! LOL!
2. I tend to get more done when I'm pressed for time.
True! When I'm down to critical mass on the time, then I'm highly motivated to finish it! I had to fill out these forms, for my work evaluation. I had time last night. When I did I do it? This morning! It had to be handed in today, but there was no particular time it had to be there. However, I did hand it in, before lunchtime, so that it was done before I had to panic about it.
3. Multi-tasking is something I do often.
True. I just put clothes in the washing machine and now I'm doing Monday Madness! LOL!
4. I might be a perfectionist.
False. I think my house would be cleaner if I was a perfectionist. Or am I just a procrastinator?
5. I enjoy Mondays as much as I enjoy Fridays.
False. I like Fridays better, although DH and I get kid-free time on Mondays. I guess it could go either way!
6. If I didn't make a list (or hang a post-it note) I'd forget what it is I need to do.
TRUE TRUE TRUE! Putting things into my Outlook calendar has saved my butt many a time! I also have a 2 calendars in my house with my work schedule on each!
7. I have no problem asking for help when I don't understand something.
That depends! Sometimes I don't want to give in and ask DH about a computer problem. I would rather figure it out myself! If I'm confused about something at work, though, then I would have to ask. Although, when people at work have computer problems, they often come to me! LOL!
