Monday Madness 8-27-06

This week's questions are coming off the top of my head; hope you enjoy! Hope you all have a great week, and thanks for playing! =)

1. Do you do dishes by hand or do you use a dishwasher?
We try to use the dishwasher as much as possible!
2. How many people have your cell phone number?
Mostly family and a few friends. I have no idea what the count is.
3. Do you shower in the morning or at night?
I'm a morning shower person! If I shower at night, I end up with funny-looking hair!
4. Do you ever have a song 'stuck' in your head?
All the time! Most recently, it was "Be Not Afraid," that was played at my husband's uncle's funeral this past week. Before that, it was Suite for Military Band No. 1 in E-Flat Major. I played an arrangement of this music, when I was in middle school and belonged the Windjammers Drum and Bugle Corps. I played soprano bugle and of the 3 summers that I did drum corps, I think this was my most favorite music! I knew it more as Russian Sailor's Dance. Sarah's Pops Band played this music a few weeks ago at the Wednesday night Concert in the Park! I came home and bought the music on iTunes and have listened to it OFTEN, since then! It was written by Gustav Holst! The thing about drum corps is that it never leaves your blood! I was 11-12-13, when I did drum corps! It's not even the songs that my drum corps played. Sometimes I still remember some of the songs the other people played, too!
5. Do you pay your bills when they arrive, or do you wait until closer to the due date to pay them?
DH does the bills. He pays most of them right on payday, but sometimes he pushes the envelope a bit longer!
6. Are you obsessive about anything in particular?
If I make something that calls for lemon juice or lime juice, I'm more likely to buy actual lemons or limes and squeeze them myself to get the juice. It tastes better.
7. What one thing would you say you have a zero tolerance for?
People pulling out in front of me, when I'm driving! Or people going way under the speed limit! Zippo, zilch, nada patience!

Monday Madness 8-21-06

This week's fabulous questions came in an email to me from one of our faithful participants (and my younger sister), Jan (aka Bug)! Thank you so much, Jan! =)

1. Would you shave your head for any amount of money? If yes, how much?
Maybe, for a million dollars! LOL!
2. What "whacky" thing might you do for a large sum of money?
Shaving my head, would be pretty whacky!
3. What do you think is a "large sum of money?"
A million dollars
4. Do you watch "reality" tv shows?
Yes
5. If so, which do you watch and in what order do you prefer them? If not, are there any you may consider watching?
I pretty much just watch American Idol.
6. Which reality show have you thought about participating in? Why?
I wouldn't want to participate in any, but I think I can sing better than some of the people who audition for American Idol!
7. Share one thing you would like to do in life but have not yet done..... think about why you haven't done it and share if you wish.
A trip to Europe, which hasn't happened, because I have never been able to afford it!

Monday Madness 8-14-06

I meant to post these questions before midnight Sunday, but fell asleep instead! I hope you still have time to play! And thanks so much for your participation! =)

1. How many "people" pictures do you have displayed in your house?
Maybe just one. We had a few more, but are displaying a horse picture, that Emily drew, right now.
2. How many times a month/year do you rearrange your furniture?
Hardly ever. I usually make an arrangement and pretty much leave it that way. I don't think there is really a better way to have the furniture.
3. Do you check your email every day? If so, how many times a day?
Probably 4-5 times per day. It depends on how much time I can spend on the computer. If I'm at work, I can't check it, since personal email websites, are blocked.
4. How often do you generally look at a clock/watch on any given day?
I think that depends on what is scheduled. I look at the clocks in the kitchen, if I'm walking through. There is a clock, right above my computer, that I can look at, any time. Probably a lot, since I always want to know what time it is.
5. How do you handle telemarketer phone calls?
Often saying "no" and hanging up.

Monday Madness 8-7-06

Good Monday morning to you all! Let's get on with this week's questions...

1. Are you working on any big projects around your house right now?
Not currently
2. If so, tell us about it; if not, do you have any plans to do so in the near future?
We would like to fix up our upstairs bathroom. The shower/tub faucet is dying and is going to have to be replaced. We also have this sea green and mauve tile, that is okay, but it's been there since the 50's. I would like something more blue and white, with lighthouse accents! LOL! Not sure, yet, how extensive we are going go get, with this project. The tile goes all the way around the bathroom, so probably pricey to change it all.
3. How do you generally pay for merchandise at your local store? Debit, credit, check, or cash?
Debit card
4. Which month of the year seems to go by the fastest?
December, since there's so much to do
5. Which day of the week seems to go by the fastest?
Probably Saturday, since I usually don't have to work
6. Have you taken up any new hobbies lately?
No, not really. There's cross-stitching I could do, but I never think about it.

Beautiful Thursday

Today, was much nicer. We took Jasmine on a walk around the block and spent some time talking with the neighbors. The sun was shining, the whole day today.

Sarah is a happy kid. Her Epson C86 printer was all clogged up and wouldn't print anymore. Gary did some research and found that a company sells a cleaning kit, to get rid of the clogs. It was from Maxpatch Ink. It cleaned out the crud, instantly and we printed a picture of a jigsaw puzzle the kids were working on and it was gorgeous! The kids are pleased. I'm glad we figured it out, before school started.

After the heat, now it's cold outside!

It was hotter than sin, over the last two days, along with being horribly muggy, too! Thank goodness for air conditioning! LOL! Even today, at noon, it was still VERY hot, when I walked home for lunch and walked back to work, since Gary wasn't home to take me in the car.

But then this afternoon, the cold front must have gone through. It was in the 70's, when I came home from work, and is now in the 60's, with a stiff northerly breeze. Sarah had a band concert tonight, and Emily and I froze. We had jackets on, too! The park is down near the lake and that breeze was blowing in from the lake, I think! Brrr. It seemed a little warmer at home, about a mile from the park where the concert was. I have long pants and a sweatshirt on! LOL!
